Camilla has revealed that Gethin’s performances on Saturday made the evening one of her favourite nights ever on Strictly.
‘I don’t know what I’ve done to Gethin,’ she says. ‘I looked at him and thought ‘this man has the potential to go all the way’. We felt a lot of pressure from Len’s comment last week. I just thought please let Gethin come out and perform the Jive – and he did.’
‘If I had to sum up Saturday’s performance,’ says Gethin, ‘it would probably be something like this: WOO-HOOOOOOOO! It’s mental, the speed I was at. I burnt a hole in my trousers! I think it was technically better than the Salsa. I’m delighted to be in the semi final.’
‘I don’t know what this show has done to me. I’m dressing up, wearing make-up, dancing and really enjoying it. I’m so excited! I can’t walk anywhere without talking about dancing.’
But despite his new found confidence Gethin knows he’s got to keep working hard to get to the final. ‘Every Sunday, we go back to week one,’says Camilla. ‘I love that about Gethin. You have to get over Saturday and get on with the next week.’
‘I wanna work really hard this week because this could be our last chance’, she says. Let’s hope not. We reckon there’s plenty more shimmering and shaking to come from gorgeous Geth.
