Official BBC Statement regarding Semi-Final votes

Due to the unprecented outcome of the judges vote – there was an tie between the top two couples both scoring the maximum points available – 3 points the audience vote could not have saved one of our couples from the dance off.

The vote opened just before the programme went off air, we took the decision that all the votes cast tonight should stand and be carried through to next weeks final.

So the audience has had the usual chance to vote on the performances of all our semi-finalists. All the votes cast tonight will be rolled over.

Tonight’s vote has been independently verified.

    I felt that the public were conned again by the BBC and Strictly. The judges must have been told to do what they did what a shambles you are making of this programme, Go back to your original format or you will finish the programme for good in particular having it on both nights. You should not ask public to vote, then wait for the next programme to be told no one would be going. Cant see how you would not get 1 2 and 3 with the public votes what a farce. Bet the dancers were not very happy either, clearly Tom was the weakest dancer. On the way that this programme has run towards the end you did not deserve to win the award you received. You need a new producer and a shake up.

    I was shocked at thecomments in the Mail on Sunday this morning regarding the votes last night. I am an avid fan of the show and, having been in show business all my adult life I do think that I can discriminate between dancers.
    I love Tom but on last night’s showing I was certain that he would be out as, although he was excellent, he just fell behind the amazing performances of the other two
    I am particularly worried at the increasing criticism of experts who arte engaged to judge excellence as well as entertainment.
    At first I enjoyed John Sargeant but latterly startyed to really resent him as he did a really good job of “playing to the gallery” and putting other much better dancers out of the competition.
    If I was asked to judge a competition these days of the high standard Strictly holds I would think twice!!!!!!
    Anyway good luck to the contestants you are brilliant.

    DIDENT THE JUDGES JUST SHOW WHO THEY WONTED TO WIN TOM AS NEVER BEEN IN THE DANCE OF YET THAT LISA AS BEEN JN JT THREE TIMES WE HAVE JUST GOT NO FAITH IN ANY OF THE JUDGES GET EW BLOOD IN OR LOOSE A GOOD SHOW

    I think that Tom’s dance was definitely the weakest, but I do think it will be good to see him in the final, as he has shown what talent he does have in other shows. I think they did deserve to win the award, not least for the hard work the professional dancers put in!

    I don’t blame Tom / Camilla but the scenario makes a mockery out of the SCD. Rules are Rules, Tom dancing was not good and on the night deserved to leave. You can tell who they want to win. Hopefully justice will be dealt. Feel so sorry for Rachel and Lisa who deserved to be in the final on their own merritt.

    Take a chiller everyone – its a celebrity dance show, its not as if anyone’s going to lose out career wise or lose a limb!

    I think it’s great that Tom is in the final!

    It’s a very entertaining show and this just makes it all the more exciting. Conspirarcy theorists, get over yourselves!
