Week 8 RESULTS: Heather and Brian voted OUT of Strictly Come Dancing

It was a case of fourth time unlucky for Heather and Brian tonight as they were unanimously voted of Strictly Come Dancing.

I’m rather shocked to say that Rachel and Vincent were in the bottom two, but actually, when I sit to think about it it does make sense…sort of.

They were mid-table and did an unconventional Quickstep-type American Smooth. Now perhaps the public didn’t like it. I thought it was fab though.

Also, she is a little dead behind the eyes and I think people have high expectations of her.

In comparison, Christine is probably less good technically but she really connected with the audience and was so happy and smiley that you couldn’t help but vote for her.

Hopefully this will spur Rachel on and she will improve her performance – and don’t forget that Matt and Flavia were also in the bottom two last year and they came second!

    I feel the rules of the competition should change. It is absolutely ridiculous that John Sargent is still in the competition. He has a very good partner but he looks ridiculous when he dances.

    Yes but Matt did a very bad job when he was in the bottom 2 if i remember correctly and that is not the case with Rachel. I really loved there dance. I think it is sad that people keep voting for someone who can’t dance saying he is so entertaining. yes his first dance was but now it is boring.
    He is counting on the public so much he does not even need to practise anymore.

    I think it is a travisty that judge LENs comments have not been accepted by the public and yet another dancer that should STILL BE DANCING instead of John Seargent.
    It gives no credence to the fact it is a dancing competition and not a “help the aged or inept” voting show.

    We have been very big fans of Strictly Come Dancing since it first began. We wish that the British public would look on it as a dance competition and not a popularity contest. Tonight, John Sargent should never have been voted in again. John is by far the worst celebrity dancer ever to have been on Strictly Come Dancing. John has gone far enough in this competition and it is not fair on all of the other contestants who are dancing so well and face being sent home after a dance off because the British public are so stupid to vote on a persons popularity instead of their dancing ability. There should be a rule in the competetion where the judges can over rule the publics vote when the celebrity they have voted for has no idea of how to dance to keep the competition fair.

    AWFUL! AWFUL! AWFUL!
    I like the format of SCD, as compared to our Dancing with the Stars, in that there is a dance off of the bottom two and the judges make the final decision. But the public has to have some common sense and vote the right people into the bottom two. John Sargent must go. I guess the judges will have to give him a zero and everyone else a 40 in order to have him in the dance off. We love Brian and he did a great job with Heather on the show. He is a very talented and fine young man and we wish him the best in his future experiences.

    Strictly Come Dancing is turning into a farce, John Sargent
    should have been voted off. We should remember this is a Dance competition, not a popularity contest.

    Contestant’s should be judged on dancing ability.

    If only the panel were less arrogant and able to acknowledge John’s efforts – for however lacking in ability ,he has put in the time! Like everyone he has the right to be encouraged and praised for the little progress he has made with the limited ability at his disposal! He has known how to play the insults and arrogance of the judges better than previous unfortunate contestants and the public has responded accordingly! If the panel had only been more sensitive and
    less full of self imprtance it would have been over for John long since.

    My daugher and I are big strictly fans, but we have stopped watching John Seargant and Kristina dance because it is soooooo awful. I for one will be voting for Rachel whatever happens next week, because I definately do not want to see her voted out at this stage of the competition. Another Gabby Logan I hope see is not!

    Strictly Fans Get Real!!

    Yesterday’s ridiculous results showed that it’s time for Strictly fans to stop voting with their hearts for loveable but lamentable John Sargeant. He’s sweet, intelligent, witty and fun BUT HE CAN’T DANCE. The intelligent UK public has always given Strictly no-hopers a few weeks grace in past series’ but if we don’t get John OFF, the show will lose all credibility. It’s a dance show and don’t forget it.

    On another note, I can completely understand why Heather isn’t popular – nothing about race at all – she’s just not friendly or engaging enough and she’s not prepared to ‘sell’ herself for the show (which I secretly admire). Each week I think she’s going to jump over the dias and nut one of the judges. Pity that’s not going to happen now.

    My husband has said he won’t watch any more and I do think that the BBC will lose a lot of viewers now – a dancing competition SCD is NOT! Surely it is possible for the judges to vote one couple into the dance off and leave the public to vote in the other couple. This would then prevent the farce of John Sargent still being there – he should have been voted off on the first show!

    yes i also think john seargant should be gone by now. I was very surpised to see Racheal in bottom two what on earth are people doing. what is the point of the other dancers learning new dances and trying their best if people dont vote for best dancers only most popular person.

    I find it shocking that someone like Rachel was in the dance off with Heather where it should have been either JOHN and Jodie or JOHN HELLO!!!!! and Heather.

    People have now got too stop voting for him just cos he is a really nice guy, it will be such a disaster if someone like Austin or Tom (thud) gets to be in the dance off and he is stil IN!!

    THis IS a dancing contest NOT a poplarity win.

    OK, so John should have gone, but then, so should Craig and Arlene. The way to incense the public is to make offensive and negative remarks, probably the prime reason the public vote for John!. I would love to see ex professional ballroom dancers do the judging and not these self important ego maniacs!

    its about time this country woke up and voted john sargent off the show, before somebody who can really dance gets voted off. heathwr was a lot better dancer and it is not right, and rachel certainly didnt deserve to be in the dance off, this show is about dance not amusement

    Quentin Wilson was voted off on the first/second? time he danced and everyone knew it was fair as he did. Sargeant’s continuing presence is absolutely daft because it is going to end up with one of the more talented celebrities having to go. Show is most definitely losing its appeal for me and while I am at it can we please please please get rid of Forsyth and replace with lovely Anton du Beke.

    I think John Sargeant is a very nice lovable man, but I’m afraid he is no dancer! I love watching Strictly Come Dancing, but my enthusiasm is waning as I watch week after week and see that John is kept in the competion! It is said his performance is entertaining!! Then let him entertain in a comedy show not in a classy artistic show like strictly come dancing! It must be very frustrating for the professional dancers seeing him return every week. I am a senior citizen myself and feel I would want to leave the show with dignity if I were him! So come on Johns’ voters help him out!!!!

    It would appear that John Sergeant’s latest comments mean that he is still relying on the public vote to ensure that he will dance in the next round and so deprive another more deserving couple to go through.Shame on you John!Come on,do the honourable thing and bow out NOW!

    Why are the Public so stupid to keep on voting for John. he can’t dance. Rachel is such a beautiful dancer. The Public can’t be trusted to vote. Therefore the judge’s scores should be the only scores that count .

    I think the proper thing for John Sargent to do would be to step down as he knows and has said as much that he cant dance, I think it would be the moral thing to do, I agree with others that Brucie should go, and as Anton is almost always the first to be voted off because he always seems to get the worse partners poor dear he should take over as the presenter.

    Come on, everybody! Don’t take it so seriously! It’s all part of the fun, and after all none of it is real life – it’s entertainment. And I’ve been highly entertained, as usual, not least about the “controversy” of bad dancers getting through! I have my favorites too, but whatever will be will be! Vote more, if you care that much. X

    I think that the rules should change. Only the bottom three should be voted for by the general public and that at least might be fairer. People voting for John should be careful he might end up in the final! I wouldn’t mind so much if he trained hard but he is obviously having a laugh at his competitors expense

    to jolly jack—-I agree absolutely–this is a dancing dancing dancing competition not a popularity contest, but it happens every year, the judges berate someone and then the public goes all out with sympathy votes, so unfair to the better dancers!!

    Great show and all the right contestants are still in…… apart from John Sergeant. So confident is he now of getting the popularity vote, that he didn’t even try to dance last week!

    What message is the British public sending out by voting for him? That you can become famous and a winner by being totally incompetent at what you do, as long as you uphold a “cheeky chappy” attitude, liberally sprinkled with some clever verbal manipulation. His political background is obviously serving him well in this respect. If John has any real integrity, he should stand down now.

    It is also time for Bruce to go. I vote for Anton Du Beke to be the presenter of the next series.
