Breaking News: NO dance-off this Saturday semi-finals!

It has just been announced on It Takes Two that there will be NO dance-off on this Saturday’s semi-finals!

Hmmm this makes me think *scratches head* what are the BBC trying to achieve with this move?

Who are they trying to save or who are they trying to get rid of by doing this?

Perhaps they are trying to keep Chris and Ola in the competition; knowing that if they were in the bottom two with either Ricky or Ali, that they are unlikely to be saved..

What do you think superfans?

    I presume they’re doing it because of what happened last year. What will happen if they all end up with 4 points? Be like last year and they’ll all go through to the final

    I think they’ve made a mistake with Ricky, because altho’ they now admit that he’s the best male dance they’ve ever had, they have criticised him harshly all the way thru to try to even up the field. The stuff he does is so much more difficult than anyone has ever done before but the judges have never given him any credit for the degree of difficulty. Now they have a problem because Chris is so popular he would never be in the dance off so they would have to choose between their two best dancers, Ali and Ricky and of course have elected not to do so. I would love to see Chris win but I do feel sorry for Ricky who I think has been given a raw deal.

    So this is just to get over the fact that last year’s tie meant that the viewer’s votes couldn’t make a difference, yes?

    What I think the BBC are hoping for is for the judges to score:
    Ricky = first = 3 pts
    Ali = second = 2 pts
    Chris = third = 1 pt

    Then the public vote the exact reverse, which is what must have happened this past weekend:

    Chris = first = 3 + 1 = 4
    Ali = second = 2 + 2 = 4
    Ricky = third = 1 + 3 = 4

    And lo! There are three finalists and the show won’t be quite so dull!

    Mungus: That would be the only way to ensure that the best dancer won, but it can’t happen if, as is reported, the public vote will be the tie-breaker. If the voting went as you suggest, Ricky would be out.

    How then will they decide the winner in the final? Ali gets the judges’ vote, Chris the public’s, so Chris wins?

    Sure, it’s only a TV show, but is it any wonder our kids value popularity over excellence at school, when they see the adults vote that way at every opportunity? Style over substance every time. Way cool! we may all end up losers.

    What a travesty! The great british public get it wrong yet again. There is no doubt that in terms of quality of dancing the best final would have been between ricky and natalie and Ali and Brian. Chris and Ola are not in the same league. The judges are partly responsible by urging the public this evening to vote for ricky and natalie and saying it would be wrong if they didin’t get to the final

    What a farce, John Sargent all over again ! This is a dancing competition and the final should be between the two best dancers, Chris is not in the same league and should follow John,s honourable example and leave.

    Just an update on the BBC BIAS, Chris Hollins(Who I happen to like AS A SPORTS CORRESPONDENT) has appeared twice on the morning programme ‘Cash In The Attic’ this week. Not very subtle is it?
