Manchester United footballer Carlos Tevez has revealed he wants to show off his footwork on TV’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The Argentinian striker believes he could win the celebrity competition by performing the tango, his national dance.
He said: “I could bring something to the show they’ve never seen before — real, authentic dancing from Argentina.”
The sensual tango originated in the South American country during the late 19th century and is a matter of fierce pride.
Tevez, 25, got the idea of competing after watching world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather in the show’s US version.
But he may have to wait until he hangs up his boots before appearing on the BBC 1 show.
He admitted: “I can’t see the gaffer giving me time off. I think I’ll have to wait until I retire.”
