More celebrity names have been tipped to take part in the next series of Strictly Come Dancing, according to the papers.
The Sun reports that former England footballer Teddy Sheringham is in talks with show bosses to sign up for the seventh series of the show, due to begin in the autumn.
He almost took part last year but pulled out at the last minute.
However, sources say the 43-year-old striker is close to signing a deal and will begin training for the show in August.
“We’ve been keen on Teddy for some time and really hope we get him on board this year,” a show insider told the paper.
Other names who have been linked with Strictly include former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne – who would be going head-to-head with the next series of that show if she signs up.
“I was asked to do it last year but I turned it down,” Sharon told the paper. “I thought it would be disrespectful to Simon Cowell as it is The X Factor’s opposition. But this year I’m seriously thinking about doing it. I’m so close.”
EastEnders star Kara Tointon, who plays Dawn Swann on the soap, is also in the frame. Kara, who leaves EastEnders this summer, won the Sport Relief Strictly special in March 2008.
