Results: Zoe and James voted out!

zoe-and-james-vote

In a strange turn of events in week 7 of Strictly Come Dancing, Zoe Lucker and James Jordan have been voted out by 3 to 1 vote.

Ali and Brian were also in the bottom two after a stilted Paso Doble but Craig, Bruno and Len all voted to save them..even after Ali danced the dance-off shoeless due to a stubbed toe from earlier in the week.

Do you think it’s down to the fact that Zoe and Ali just didn’t connect with the audience even though they are good dancers? Do they make you feel anything when they dance? That’s what dancing is about for me!

Well done to Craig and Ricky Groves for getting though woooo!

I found it really unfair that Zoe was out. She is a great dancer and I enjoyed very much watching her dancing…I don’t understand why Grag still stays in the show with his ‘dad-like’ steps…

I am amazed and disappointed that Ali & Zoe were in the dance off, this programme is fast coming a complete farce. It appears that peoples skills are not being rated, just the fact that “The great British Public” vote for their favorite TV star not for a person’s abilities.

I believe the voting should be changed, keep the 4 judges, but get together another panel of people from across section of the public who will at least have some unbiased opinion and let them them vote for the performances and then maybe on the last show get the public involved for the last show.

At least then skill my triumph and the show will no longer be a complette farce.

I too was flabbergasted to see Zoe and Ali in the dance-off. Hats off to some of the lesser dance-skilled celebs for entertaining us with their efforts, early in the series this is wonderful fun.

BUT FIRST AND FOREMOST THIS IS A DANCE COMPETITION.
I think the voting public should strive to remember that or the show just becomes a farce.

Losing a lovely dancer like Zoe now surely just makes the competition far less interesting in the long run… far better to watch the tension build as the more promising celebs continue to improve even more week by week (or not) and we have a genuine ‘fight to the finish’.

Please let’s not see another year like last when we lost so many good dancers to John Sergeant’s stomping efforts and therefore, in my opinion, missed out what could have been an even more exciting race to the final.

I completely disagree with all of the comments I have read so far. While Zoe and James were good dancers, this is primarily an ENTERTAINMENT SHOW on a Saturday night and the judges should accept the way the public votes. And anyway if Craig Revel Horwood didn’t under mark some of the celebrities (like Ricky Groves and his rumba) the public may not feel the need to phone in and vote for dancers which are maybe not as good as others. It is also the case (as Claudia says on It Takes 2) that the public like to see a journey and in the final they will vote for the best dancer.

Let’s not have soap stars and ex-soap stars in this competition and then we might have a decent competition where the celebrities are voted for their dancing abilities. Every series there is the same problem. There are two other dancers equal to Zoe and Ali and they are Rikki and Jade. Let Craig go to Blackpool and stay there. As for Len it’s about time he had his day does he not know the other judges have a right to their opinion they do not have to agree with him. LET’S HAVE ARLENE BACK she knows best.

  • Eleanor

I thoroughly enjoy the show, but I was very angry at last nights results. Neither of the two couples, Ali & Brian, or Zoe & James should have been in the dance off. The huge fan base of the “SOAP STARS” are putting the weak dancers forward. SHAME.

it’s very sad to see the more talented dancers lose out simply because the viewers like another contestants’ personality or character more even if they’re not actually very good at dancing!
sadly it’s the price we pay for having a public vote, which will never be discarded becuase it makes the BBC so much money.

Very dissapointing to see two of the top dancers on the show being in the dance -off.I have been a SCD fan since the begining but i do feel it will lose credibility and fans if this continues to happen.I respect every celebrity who has the bottle to go out and perform in front of millions of people, however, i do not believe Craig should have survived beyond the first couple of shows. It is also irritating to hear him every week saying how he would love to get to Blackpool, the mecca of ballroom, for next weeks show.(Im sure ALL the others would love to be there too? !!)It is a tactic that has obviously worked but the BBC editing team should take some blame as by continually showing him every week plea to get to Blackpool, they are inflencing the public to vote to keep him in.He didnt even make the dance off and for Ali and Zoe to be in bottom two was a complete joke and doesnt do SCD any favours.

  • Brian Danvers

Like virtually all the others I have been a longstanding fan of the show but am getting increasingly frustrated at the form of the voting system which results in such a farcical situation.
It would be much better if the public were only allowed to vote on those from the lower half of the pool, the upper half being allowed to go forward automatically.
This shouldn’t greatly affect the proceeds from the telephone calls and should avoid a repeat of this situation.

  • Richard Wrigley

What a farce. Ali & Brian, and Zoe & James should never have been in the dance off. Maybe we should change our system of scoring for football to an audience vote for the winning team, regardless of the score. This would lead to some interesting results! This could never happen, football is the new religion, never to be confused with entertainment!
Dancing is, to those of us who take part an important passtime, and should be granted the same respect as other sports.
I hoped that the dance off would avoid these horrendouds results, but it appears that the ‘Great British Public’ is not capable of understanding or evaluating anything other than a simple score line as in football, rugby, etc.

I too have been a SCD fan since it first started.I was very angry last night that two of best dancers were in dance off!!! Every year it is the same the public feel sorry for all the less capable dancers and keep voting them in and the really good dancers who deserve to stay in are voted off ITS A JOKE!!!!!!!! It may well be a entertainment show but its a dance competition at same time which means if your a good dancer and get a high score you should stay in!!!! Otherwise whats the point of the judges being there, everyone may aswell get the same score as it seems to make no difference if you have a high score at all and defeats the object of the show!!! All these people that feel sorry for Craig – he cannot dance so he should have gone ages ago!!! The voting system definately needs to change otherwise this is going to keep happening and become more and more annoying and disappointing to see the best dancer keep being voted off!!!!!

  • John Paterson

Once again it is absolutely ridiculous that good dancers are voted off in favout of so called soapstars. Why can’t the judges votes be given priority over the “Great British Public”. There must be a better system than this. It is not a dance competition – it’s a personality vote.

  • Becca

Even though the voting system is unfair, I doubt the BBC will change it as they make too much money from it!!

  • chris pagan

once again we have the spectacle of a poor dancer with a sob story kept in while a good dancer goes out,it did not help that every time craig was mentioned we were told he wanted to get to blackpool and it was his birthday,it,s supposed to be a dance contest. zoe & james have worked very hard and they were a joy to watch.it,s about time len realised that craig does know what he is talking about & is the fairest judge on the panel and always acts like a gentleman despite the vitrol from len & btuce who should keep his comments to himself,

  • Amy Tibbals

I’m amazed that Zoe and James have gone, she was an amazing dancer, what is wrong with the general public??? Why are they voting to keep Craig in when he is obviously struggling, this is also true on X Factor where the evil twins are being kept in even though they are obviously not as good as the other singers which are being forced off the show each week to make room for them. The public really are a puzzle!!

I totally agree with all that has been said in the earlier comments. The voting system needs to be changed. I suggest that in the early weeks, the top five couples on the judges’ leaderboard automatically go forward to the following week. The public then vote as usual on the remaining couples. This will then ensure that the best dancers don’t end up in the dance off. When you get down to only 9 couples then the top 4 go through, 8 couples the top 3 stay etc until you get down to the final 5 then when they are all up for the public vote. Hopefully then you should end up with probably the best 5 couples and all those that clearly can’t dance will have gone.

I just couldn’t get over that two of the most likely winners of the whole competition where in the dance off! It must have been soo hard for the judges… I wouldn’t know which one to pick? ://

They’re both soo good at dancing and there are people still in that are nowhere near as good as Zoe, WHO went out!!?

It is a dance competition.. However, I do love Ricky Whittle’s six pack haha ;)

  • Jane

I am losing the will to live with shows like SCD and The X-Factor. The great British Public are making our country into a laughing stock by having people like Ali & Zoe and even Lloyd and Rachel in the dance off/sing offs.

We need to be reminded that these shows are about talent and not simply entertainment. The voting system needs to change to ensure that the public vote doesn’t count at much as it does. The difficulty is that the TV companies and others are making far too much money from these voting shows.

These shows are fast becoming farcical and I for one will be voting with my remote control if these kind of results continue.

  • K Fergus

I agree it’s not ideal that good dancers are voted off but at the end of the day all you who have complained ARE the Great British Public – did you lift your phone to vote for the better dancers?
