The Strictly Come Dancing semi-final was not to be missed tv and it certainly didn’t disappoint!
The three remaining couples all danced an argentine tango and a rechoreographed dance from earlier in the series.
First up were underdogs Chris and Ola with a rumba, which they danced in week 1.
Criag said “No real improvement from week one. Your hands are absolutely dreadful. I loved the routine, the emotion was fantastic it was just ruined by those hands of yours.”
Was it the right choice to go with a notoriously difficult latin dance? Time shall tell.
Dancing next were Ali and Brian with the first argentine tango of the night. Alesha said “I could see you were really trying to create the passion. I was a little distracted by the nerves but I thought it was great.”
Hmmm love this couple but that wasn’t as good as I was expecting. Her flicks were a bit heavy for me!
Ricky and Natalie were up next with their waltz and WOW was it good! The amazing song choice surely helped, Desree, Kissing You, but still it was awsome. Bruno said “Smooth, refined, romantic, a waltz of timeless elegance. It requires so much control, so much technique. Fabulous.”
Chris and Ola were next out to have a go at the argentine tango; I have to say it was better than I thought it was going to be. However, not as technically good as the other two competitors but still they deserve a shot at the final!
Ali and Brian danced next. And boy did she dance… what an amazing american smooth. It was probably my favourite dance of the series so far..especially when Brian kissed her on the lips at the end!! She looked shocked then closed her eyes and went in for another kiss. I’m a sucker for romance! Bruce said “Is kissing allowed?!” They scored a perfect 50 out of 50!
The final dance of the night was Ricky and Natalie’s argentine tango, for which they received 49 points and a standing ovation. Some great fancy footwork and clever lifts in there. They have really pulled it out the bag tonight both technically and emotionally.
Scores
Ricky and Natalie: 47 + 49 = 96
Ali and Brian: 42 + 50 = 92
Chris and Ola: 38 + 42 = 80
