Kara and Artem are Strictly Come Dancing Champions 2010!

Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev have been crowned Strictly Come Dancing 2010 Champions!

What an amazing final night there was so much emotion in that studio; everyone was very teary weren’t they?

I can’t believe it’s all over for another year but I must say that even though I’m disappointed that Pamela and James didn’t make it to the top two I am so happy for Kara and Artem and they really did deserve to win didn’t they?

Matt and Aliona made it through to the top two but fell at the last hurdle and came second in the competition.

In my opinion Pamela and James were better than Matt and Aliona and should have made it through to dance for the top spot but hey ho.

When the results were announced it was so sweet how Kara and Artem both burst into tears. Also Kara and Artem had a bit of a snog there didn’t they – fabulous!

Kara said ‘It’s the most special thing that I have ever achieved and thank you to this man, who has been absolutely wonderful. I’m a bit embarrassed but I’ve made the most fantastic friends for life.’

    Matt and Aliona deserved to win obviously. Kara’s mistakes
    were consistently overlooked by the judges and the bias was blatant.
    I find it suspicious that Matt and Aliona didn’t win as he has such a
    large fan base and it was down to the public vote. Also, the bullying
    by the judges was disgraceful and the fawning over Pamela awful.

      i totally agree with everything you have said-the judges definitely did not want matt to win and he has been a favourite of mine but i am happy kara won -their rumba for me was the best most exquisite dance of the series

      Sorry but I don’t think that matt & Aliona should even have been in the top three……Scott should have been in the top three. kara was Consistent from day one and although I personally would have loved pamela to win it at the end of the day kara was the best dancer in this seris and thouroughly deserved to win…CONGRATULATIONS

      If you look at the poll on the TOP right hand side CORNER of this page you will see that Kara & Artem were the most popular of the three !!!

      I would however love to see the BBC publish the voting figures !!!

      I have supported Matt through out the whole series and I totaly agree that the Judges behaviour towards Matt was like a form of bullying. They very nearly destroyed him in the semi finals, they were never consistant with their marking. At times they would praise him and then take it away with their low marking. Although I wanted Matt to win I think that Kara was brilliant and if Matt couldn’t win then she was my second best.

    strickley the best you are right kara made a lot of mistakes it did not come down to who danced the best it was who the younger people wanted .people who understand good dancing dont vote.

    That was the BEST of all the SCD last week ! Kara and Artem are a beautiful and awsome couple. They FULLY deserve being crowned for this extraordinary competition. Pity we had to suffer the ann widecombe trash for so long as it deprived other good contenders to continue. Still, Kara and Artem BRAVISSIMI !

    For me, Pamela and James did the best show dance, the others were too frantic and gymnastic for my liking. Saying that, I have loved Kara and Artem from the beginning, they have done some spectacular dances. The Argentine Tango was gorgeous. Their waltz last night was lovely, and the Rhumba, oh my!

    The judges did not want Matt to win and I agree with them. Matt thought he was better than he was and took constructive critism like a spoilt child. Kara however has danced throughout fantastically well to much more difficult choreograpghy and definately deserved to win!! Congrats kara and Artem!

      Matt behaved like a gentleman throughout, putting up with the judges biased, and sometimes cruel comments. He did not ‘have a strop or behave like a spoilt child’ but was rushing to change for the swing a thon, where he was given only a few minutes to get changed after dancing a fast paced dance. Why be so unkind to any of the competitors, especially one who has given so much pleasure to those of us who loved watching him. His generous comments to Kara, with whom he made friends, and her response to them about his work load, should make you reflect on your words. Well done to Kara.

      Well said Sarah BUT don’t entirely agree that Matt thought “he was better than he was”, JUST that the critism was a bit harsh sometimes and not really justified ??

      The judges certainly were more biased towards Pamela & James tho !!

      I wanted Kara to win BUT would love to see the voting figures for the final (including the first dances before the elimination). Because the numbers were carried over to the Final dances !!

    Although my favourite throughout the series was Matt, I was really happy when Kara won. She has the most expressive body and innate feeling for the music. Her partnership with Artem was pure genious and it was so apparent that he loves her. I would dearly love to have a DVD of all their dances – in fact it would be great to have DVDs of all the dances of the three finalists. Why doesn’t ‘Strictly’ make such things available for the public to buy? I could watch Kara and Artem’s rhumba and Viennese Waltz everyday – pure beauty.

    Kara and Pamela have been consistanly so good. What a lot of rot about bias of the judges. I wanted both of them to win!! Do not know why Matt was kept in and Pam thrown out, the public did not know quality when they saw it! Iam very happy with the result.

    By the way – just watched Countryfile which was the episode recorded when Matt went to the Hebrides. The final part of the show was at a local Céilidh in the local community centre. Just wondered if anyone else noticed Aliona sat in the corner watching the strange country dancing ? :)

      Well spotted Alf !! We watched as well and did not see her … (Thought they would have done a little something though ??) It was definitely the hall where they did their training.

    Kara is obviously such an sweet natured person and doesn’t like to think badly of anyone, sadly because she is this way she is probably too trusting and often get’s hurt. Not anymore as I’m sure Artem is the real deal and obviouls is extremely protective of her. I’m sure life is going to be good for them from now on and it couldn’t happen to a nicer couple.

    The treatment of Matt was nothing short of bullying; I fail to see how anyone could not see this. No one should have to take abuse like that. It was not constructive at all – its aim was to destroy. I don’t think any of the so called judges could take the same kind of treatment.
    I used to like Len but he has become like some pantomime villain. It looks like
    the judges are told what to say, they are not very good at acting out their *criticisms*.
    Pamela was overmarked and overpromoted for some reason; all those shots of her husband made
    it seem like it was “The Billy Connolly Show”.
    I didn’t see the supposed chemistry between Kara and Artem because Artem is rather taken with himself. I think Kara won to re-launch her career pretty much like Aleisha. It is not like the BBC is above this!

    I totally disagree with the comments about Kara being a spoilt child my mum was a ballroom dance teacher and when you look back at her earlier dances you can see that she was doing all the right steps but wasnt really dancing up until the paso, and each week the judges kept saying she wasnt really doing it for them then she came out did the paso and suddenly she became a dancer and not once did she complain about the judges comments she and Artem did have chemistry but so did Scott and Natalie and Pamela and James so all that rubbish about she always falls for costar is just hearsay do any of you know her personally so dont make judgements like that about people whose lives are constantly commented on by total strangers. Well done Kara and Artem the best winners since Matt and Alesha

    And so yet another year over…well apart from the Xmas spectacular which we are both looking forwards too…we were routing for dear Pamela who was consistent throughout the whole series…and more to the point she was not 30 something…now this alone for my wife and me was the only reason i picked up the phone to vote…at least i cant sit back and say…”well if only i had voted”…it’s like the election…if you don’t vote you got no say as to who gets in…as it happened Kara won…we shall look forwards to 2011…who will they get to be the JOKE of the show…mentioning no names..no pack drill…amusing? i cant think why she was a laughing stock…you may disagree,but that’s my point of view…merry Xmas to you all strictly people……
