Results: Jimi & Flavia voted out of Strictly Come Dancing week 6!

Jimi Mistry and Flavia Cacace have been voted out on Strictly Come Dancing in week 6 of the competition!

After a great night last night dancing a quickstep Jimi was certainly not the favourite to get the boot but he was in the bottom two along with Michelle and Brendan and received the lowest score overall.

Hmm not sure if he was the right person to go –  should Ann and Anton have gone, or perhaps Michelle and Brendan who find themselves in the bottom two for the third time?

If the dance off still existed would they have been saved?

He was so sad then he actually cried!

  • graeme

Its outrageous!! Judges have got to be allowed to save on a dance off
and the public most vote for their favourite dancer not comedy routine!!!!!

    • Clem-Berry

      Agreed!!!!

    • pamela

This programme is one of my favourites but it is losing credibility when good dancers are being voted off and that ridiculouq woman Ann is being kept in by the pubic vote. It is totally wrong.Bring back the dance off please.

      • Clem-Berry

GET ANN OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF,

        • TheCaptain

VOTE ANN. VOTE ANN, VOTE ANN, VOTE ANN, VOTE ANN

This program is not about dancing its about entertainment. Ann provides far more entertainment than most of the rest added up.

If its about dancing why do they say “Vote for your favourite” and not “Vote the best dancer”.

Without personalities and entertainment the program would be finished.

      • ella s

i tottaly agree ann needs to go she’s just anoying and incredibly funny i dont know how shes still on strictly

      • Millslangford

I have watched Strictly from the beginning and up to now have loved it – and I don’t do reality shows. However, it has got to the stage where I refuse to watch it now. Anne Widdecombe is a joke – it’s supposed to be a dance competition not a circus. Surely it should be about skill. I definitely prefer watching beautiful dancing than somebody being dragged around ‘like an appliance’

      • Beccy

Ann needs to go!! What are the public thinking? She’s supposed to be entertaining but what is so entertaining about an old lump who can’t even stand well. I do not enjoy watching her “dance”

    • tracy

I agree with all the above comments. This is a dancing competition. It is a travisity if Ann doesnt bow out and let the real dancers compet. Does the BBC realise what a mockery they are making out of other celebraties who are working very hard. Please please Ann do the right thing, you have had your fun.

  • A Hall

    What an absolute joke!
    Time to axe the show

    • Clem-Berry

Most Definitely I am not watching anymore it is so stupid, what is the point!!!!

    • claudine

Let the judges vote then whe will see and not the public

  • Josien Murray

It’s an absolute travesty that Jimmy and Flavia got voted off tonight and Ann Widdecombe is still in. How Ann can live with herself is beyond me. She knows she is rubbish and she should leave of her own free will. At the stage where good dancers are being voted off she should display some honourable behaviour and vote herself off like John Sergant did previously. I have lost faith in the voting public too who are keeping Ann in. Where is their common sense? I hope that both Ann and the public come to their senses soon.

    • Clem-Berry

Ann is not even as good as John at least he was an Elegant, Humble man!

    • Tracey

Absolutley right it has now gone beyond a joke who in their right minds would get rid of Jimmy and keep Ann and if we are honest the Welsh fool who has such in impact on me I cant even think of his name, as people are saying bring back the judges making the final choice. I am really sorry to see Jimmy go there is NO JUSTICE at all.

    • Alwynne Winter

Totally agree with Josien Murray – the BBC need to re-think the rules and regulations of this wonderful show otherwise it is going to fall flat and no one will bother to watch it any longer. I admire Anton for the way he conducts himself – a true gentleman but Ann please step down now!!!!

      • http://google Lynn Woollerton

quite agree bbc should let judges have final answer, absolutly horrendous to let jimmy and flavia be sent out. think felicity kendal should have been knocked out but ann should think of finishing

    • Becky

Course Ann can live with herself! She’s a CONSERVATIVE!!
Doesn’t have a decent bone in her body! So long as she’s in, to hell with anybody else being knocked out.

  • http://Google Dawn

A travesty! jimi goes but Ann stays, what’s wrong with you people-open your eyes you know who should have really gone and it wasn’t jimi !!!!!
Ann do the decent thing and make way for thoe who have a left and a right foot.

    • Clem-Berry

This is soooooo stupid, for goodness sake people get real!!!!

  • Simon

The BBC is obviously enjoying the extra revenue generated by the new format to the show but at the cost of fairness and honesty in the results. Time to bring down the curtain.

  • http://strictlycomedancing Joan & Peter

What a disgrace, each week good dancers are being voted off,
it isn’t funny any more, Strictly will lose viewers if this carries on. Its a farce!!!

  • http://susanchristopher1997@yahoo.co.uk susan christopher

Devastated Jimi out…he was way better that at least 4 other couples. He was a joy to watch as so obvious he loved what he was doing.

  • http://www.mashdance.co.uk Shelley Davis

As a dance school we feel unterly let down at tonights desicion. It’s now time for this ‘DANCE CONTEST’ to become A DANCE CONTEST! We will encorage ‘on facebook’ EVERYONE 2 now boycot the show.

    • pamela

I TOTALLY AGREE. I THINK ANN SHOULD DO THE DECENT THING LIKE JOHN SARGANT AND LEAVE. TINA WAS SO GOOD LAST WEEK AND ALTHOUGH I DON’T THINK MICHELLE IS VERY GOOD, JIMI WAS MUCH BETTER. IT IS GOING TO GET MUCH WORSE BECAUSE THERE ARE SOME REALLY GOOD DANCERS STILL IN, ESPECIALLY PAMELA, MATT, SCOTT AND KARA.

  • Pat Jackson

What a farce. Once again another good show has been ruined and devalued and quite honestly is not worth watching anymore. Jimmi and Flavia should never have been voted off just so the show can keep on including comic turns. Change this format before it is too late.

  • http://annoverton1@live.co.uk Ann Overton

Its disgusting that Jimi was voted out, why can’t the judges do what they used to do and make the two dancers dance again, and then they decide who stays and who goes, the wrong people are going. Its a dance competition and now its becoming silly and poor Anton needs a younger partner so stop messing around and get back to how the programme used to be.

    • LYNN HEWITSON

totally agree its a travesty why bother having judges if thats how the public vote

  • Lindsay Platt

I am so disappointed that Jimi has gone. Ann needs to go now. She has been entertaining for a few weeks, but now good dancers are being sacrificed at her expense. I feel so sorry for Anton.
For the first time ever in Strictly I find myself without a favourite that I want to win! the top end of the board are all such good dancers……
Was outraged by Craig’s 4 for Scott last night though!

  • michael gleave

    Two observations.

    The voting system is bizzare.

How can two couples who start in the top half of the judges scores end up in the at risk category?? I know it is statistically possible but these results must be skewed.

Why when there are three couples withan equal score – in this case earning five points from the judges – do the couples below them gain 4& 3 points. Shouldn’t the lowest score attract just one point? Would this affect the outcome.

I think the executive who dreamed up thi system might regret the outcomes when viewers become disillusioned and audiences fall as a consequence.

    • Linda

I totally agree, the bbc have got the scoring wrong again, if 3 people tie on 5 then the next one should be on 2 and the bottom one should have only 1. It gives those at the bottom an unfair advantage.
I also agree that the dance off would be a good idea, but Anne still has to get in the bottom 2 to even make a dance off. The public must start voting for the dancing before it becomes a complete farce.

      • tonyp

Absolutely agree. Whoever at the BBC thought it was fair to raise the scores at the bottom when there is a tie should have the courage to admit it is wrong and change it with immediate effect.

The bottom couple should receive 1 point only.

  • Carole Ord

BRING BACK THE DANCE OFF !!!! Jimi should never have been voted off. I have watched every series since it began and I am outraged !!! Who picks the celebrities in the first place?? Poor Anton ALWAYS gets the old/2 left feet ones. Thought last series was bad with John Sargeant but this is a joke.

  • Karen

can’t beleive it……if I were a cleb dancer or one of the professional dancers I would be wondering why I had bothered training so hard when someone who stomps across the floor and then sits down gets through ….shame on the BBC and the ‘dance fans’ that vote for AW.

  • Penny Cook

If it wasn’t for Anne Widdicombe I woulldn’t be watching, she alone is worth is worth the licence fee. Keep on Keeping on Anne.

    • Jean Kendell

Are you thick or what this is supposed to be a dancing show not a complete travesty and that is what it has become. How can you want to watch anything like Anne getting dragged about like a sack of potatoes when good dancers are getting voted off. Will not be watching any more and nor will a lot of my friends who are as disgusted as I am.

  • rrrohh

    this is ridiculous!
how is ann still in the show when people like jimi are being voted off, not only was he a decent dancer, he did actually dance every single week.
its outrageous…why are the public voting her?!?
    its completely beyond me.

  • Laura

My main problem was Ann being on the show in the first place. She’s made her deeply homophobic views very public over the past few years & I think it must be incredibly difficult for Bruno & Craig in particular to have to be civil to someone who’s stated that the way gay people live their lives is wrong & that they’re going to hell! I can’t imagine Nick Griffin’s going to be invited on for a quick jive anytime soon, and I would prefer my light entertainment shows to be a fascist free zone! Also, she’s a hideous dancer, I’ll be glad to see the back of her.

  • bob smith

Don’t get at Anne. She was picked to be funny and she is, which obviously gets public votes. Bringing back the dance-off would restore some fairness, as would giving those who finish in the top half ‘immunity’. The system is at fault, not Anne.

  • Graham

It`s a dancing competition isn`t it, that`s why you have dance judges, IF IT`S NOT A DANCING COMPETITION THEN WE DON`T NEED DANCING JUDGES!!!

Keeping Ann W. in at the expense of good dancers is plain ridiculous, enough is enough.

  • Chantal

Leave Ann alone. She is at least good fun and realistically anyone that goes instead of her were never going to win at the end of the day as they are all middle of the pack and obviously do not have as much public appeal or else they would have got the votes instead of Ann. This is an Entertainment Program. If you really want to watch professional dancing then there are other programs for that.

    • Carol

Where is this programme you refer to where we can see proffesional dancers? The name of the programme I watch is STRICTLY COME DANCING Not STRICTLY ENTERTAINMENT

    • http://www.letzdance.co.uk Ian

Wrong…there are are plenty of trashing entertainment programs, this IS/WAS the only regular dance program.

As others have said…why even have judges for this shambles? Even the judges seem under instructions to keep banging on about it being just entertainment. They rightly crucified John S, but apart from Craig seem to support A.W???

It was a joke when Len went on about the rules of lifts not being allowed, but is allowed to fly in on a cable like a floating Hippo.

Even most of the dances hardly show the character of the said dance as showboating and waisted beats become the order of the day.

  • debbie

Sorry to see them go! Think the format is all wrong this year – i never get to watch the show early enough to vote before the voting window closes!

  • RENEA

What is the point anymore, why on earth Jimi has been voted off when that American bird cannot dance for toffee, I felt for Brendan the first few weeks but now!!!! Amercians do wot you do best eat doughnuts and mcdonalds, kfc, and thats before breakfast!!!!! Bring back Jimi,

  • Linda

I swear I will never watch Strictly again if Anne gets anywhere winning. The programme is losing credibility. Please bring back the dance off and the judges final decision.

  • http://www.strictlycomedancing/tv Di

It’s time for the BBC to listen to the public – please bring back the dance off. The show which is after all a dance contest is becoming a farce. Also get rid of Aleysha – she adds nothing credible other than just being a pretty face.

  • Brian G

Agree with a lot of the comments here, the show has become a farce and I can’t believe how a huge section of the public can allow themselves to be so manipulated by media hype for Widdicombe.
That said the organisers of the show should take a long hard look at how they’ve turned the show from a entertaining DANCE competition to a dumbed down clown show.
we’ll give it one more week but if another good dancer goes in place of someone who can’t put one foot in front of the other gracefully then that’s it for us after seeing every series since it started.
Don’t hold your breath for Widdicombe to the decent thing and step down, she’s no John Sergant.

  • barbs

I was absolutely furious last night, could not believe the public could be so stupid. To vote off Jimmy and leave Anne on is just unbelievable. She is just awful and if the public are voting just to see her make a spectacle of herself then the BBC must bring back the dance off or the show will have lost all credibility.Last week Tina went and she was far better than Anne same as this week.
Are we going to lose all thegoof dancers and end up with Anne and Gavin – if that should happen I for one will never atch the programme again. I know it is an entertainment show but please stop this lunacy.
By the way why are people voting for Gavin – he is such an arrogant, vain and personalityless person – get rid of him next – having to stoop to taking your top off to hide the fact he is like a wooden top – desperation and very sad.

    • Jacqueline Kops

      I love watching Strictly.
      It is entertainment first clas.
But why Britisch people voted off Jimi and Flavia is unbelievable. Jimi is charming and improving every week. What is this show about??
Jimi you were and are my favourit. Your daughter can be proud.
Voting off good dancers is making this program less populair.Ann I feel sorry they make you do this.

    • FredAstaire

      AGREE

  • Jonsey

I can’t understand WHO votes for Ann.
Ann should not step down, it’s the muppets that vote for her that should be ashamed.

I think if a celeb wins ‘because’ they are so bad, then that will be the end of the show.

Generally the public appreciate dance quality and want a dance competition, not another mindless popularity program.

  • FredAstaire

This is not a dance show just a spectacle with a silly entrant-Ann is making a fool of herself and voted on by clowns -not dance supporters! Jimmy was gutted likewise the judges(they should stand down-refuse to vote or do something to show they oppose this crazy situation!)

    • Ann

People are now laughing AT Ann, not with her.

  • http://Strictlycomedancingnewsandgossip Sheena Davis

Why oh Why are the public voting for a joke act like A Widdicome!!!!! Is it the desire to humiliate politions?
if so why do it at the expense of a great show like strictly. The joke has gone far enough now GO HOME ANN
and let the dancers restore some credibility to the show

  • Mandy

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back the dance off. I know that it was a lot of pressure for the judges to choose between contestants but this set up, now, is just RI-DIC-U-LOUS.
This week was the only time i missed Strictly. (Took my kids to see bonfire.)Watched the result show last night and could not believe it. I felt so upset for Jimi & Flavia. I want there to be a re-match so that I can be in and vote for them like I have done before.

  • gillian butler

Ann W should go now. I will stop watching Strictly if this goes on much longer.
It would be very wrong if Matt, Scott, Kara or Pamela were voted off before Ann.
Every week everyone just laughs as she dances, it’s humiliating, but then she was a politician!!

  • http://google Carroll O’Neill

I felt the same as Jimi did last night! watching Jimi and Flavia being voted off, I have voted for them most weeks as you can see the obvious improvement in Jimi week by week! Come on viewers please do the right thing when voting!

  • Carol

I cannot beleive what I am seeing on this show. To those of you voting because it is good entertainment let me remind you the show is called ‘STRICTLY COME DANCING’not ‘STRICTLY ENTERTAINMENT. What is the point of the judges telling the contestants how to improve when it seems that good dancing is not what the voters are after, it seems all you need is a comedy routine. A.W. is lapping up all the attention and soooo likes to hear the sound of her own voice. If she has any honour and sense of fair play then she will retire from the competition. I doubt she has any honour though.
BBC TAKE NOTE: YOU HAVE SPOILED A BRILLIANT SHOW.

  • http://strictlycomedancing joe

what a joke. cannot belive flavia and jimi are out and that useless ann widdicombe is still in the how. she has to go. flavia and jimi should be reinstated. if widdicombe wins it will be the end of strictly. bring back the dance off.

  • Di

I have been a fan since the series started but last night I could not believe the result and I like others will stop watching if Ann is not voted out.

Have the producers forgotten what the program is about? It’s the hard work of the dancers in their teaching, and the hard work, comittment and progress of the contestants. Watching all that effort put into practice with all the glitz and glamour is a winning formula.

Yes it’s an entertainment program and I initialy found Anton and Ann funny…………..now its just looking sad. Anton deserves a partner where he can show off his dancing skills rather than always being relied on for his comedic talents. Ann needs to bow out with her dignity intact.

Please go back to the dance off BBC otherwise you will lose viewers who value fairness and quality above a few cheap laughs.

  • Chris H

Ohhhh! It’s an ENTERTAINMENT SHOW is it? That explains it! Just because it’s got “DANCING” in the title, I thought it would be about DANCING! How stupid of me!
In that case, I think we could get rid of all those pointless and expensive dance professionals and the huge efforts being made by the contestants to actually acheive something. We could replace them with a few muscle men and kids playing the Bomtempi organ just like Opportunity Knocks used to have. If we want some dancing, we could just ask every other unfit, plodding overweight, misshapen no-hoper to throw themselves around the floor. That should be pretty “entertaining” and seems to be all that’s necessary to win a prize.

  • Sidey

Why don’t they turn the voting system on its head, and viewers vote for the person they want to see go. It would get rid of Ann quicly, and it X-Factor used the same system, that joke Wagner would have gon long ago.

  • Serene

The new format is utter rubbish. They should change the name from Strictly Come Dancing to Strictly Come Entertaining. I cannot see the point when good dancers are being voted off at the expense of another couple with more entertainment value. The show is completely losing it’s credibility as a good dance show to watch. I used to look forward to watching it every year, now I am embarrassed to mention I watch it. I speak not just for myself but many other loyal fans I know. Come on BBD, bring back the dance off and let the judges make the final decision!

  • denise

if Ann W. could at least attempt to dance it would be something but she stomps around without any intention of trying and this i find unfair on the other celebs who are also novice dancers. They are giving it they’re all and put a lot of time and effort into this program and being an ex-dancer i know how hard it is for them and ii admire all of them. Ann’s part in the show has gone beyond the entertainment angle now and she should step away and let us see the real stars of the show come through. It is a shame that some of the better dancers have lost out but please do not let the remaining ones, let the show go on as it should do without Ann. perhaps if this show is to remain on our screens in future the BBC will think twice who they put in as the ‘comedy act’. if not I fear the ratings will go down dramatically which would be a great shame.

  • Clifford Dennis

Come on BBC you really must step in otherwise your flagship programme Strictly Come Dancing will fall into oblivion.
There is absolutely no way Flavia and Jimmy should have gone out last Saturday and absolutely no way Ann Widdicombe should still be in this competition. It is a DANCE competition which in itself is very entertaining but the continuing presence of Ann Widdicombe is making it a FARCE.
The judges must decide with a dance off for the bottom two and sceptics like myself think it is all about RATINGS and equally wonder how reliable the votes are recorded?
Keep on this present path and you will lose an awful lot of viwers!!

  • tracy

Who are these peope voting for Ann? They obviously enjoy a joke, but enoughs enough, lets get this show back to what it should be sbout,DANCING.

  • heather

Poor Jimi looked so heartbroken when they read out the result. I wish Ann would just leave, her performances are just sad not funny. At least John Sergent had enough class to step down when he realised the public were never going to vote him out.

    BRING BACK THE DANCE OFF!!!!

  • Niamh

So totally agree with everyones comments regarding getting Ann to leave! Its not even funny and I never thought it was. And while they’re at it they can get rid of Alicia too. Bring in a judge who knows something about dancing!

    • Becky

      Niamh

I both agree and disagree with what you say. AGREE with your comment that Ann should leave Strictly, but strongly DISAGREE with your comment regarding Alesha. In case you’ve forgotten she WON series 5 with Matthew Cutler!! One of the best winners I’ve ever seen on Strictly! How long have you been watching??

  • Jenny

I totally agree with comments above, let the judges decide who goes. The competitors spend 7/8 hours a day learning to dance and what for I ask to be voted off before someone who hasn’t got a clue it makes it all pointless. The professionals must feel deflated after all their hard work. Lets play fair here.

  • Red Spider

I am so disappointed that Jimi and Flavia were voted off. There is no doubt he is a much better dancer than Ann. However, there’s obviously a lot of people who want to keep her in and are bothering to vote to keep her there. Did everyone who is complaining actually vote I wonder? A dance off is definitely the way to go though.

  • Zoe

I am gobsmaked. I have loved this show and have always chosen it over X Factor, however it is now becoming ridiculous. Let the judges have a say, this is the most talented line up ever and yet I wouldn’t be surprised if Anne won by the way it is going. I think ITV is getting more appealing by the minute!

  • michael gleave

Disappointed that “It takes two” was unable or unwilling to justify how Jimmy could be voted off from 4th position after the judges scores.

I think we should petition the DG to explain the rationale of the voting system or will that be another decision that causes chaos in the executive corridors of the Beeb!

    • barbs

I totally agree – a petition is the only way to restore some commence sense to a programme that is much loved.
The BBC in trying to up its ratings have made a proper howler – if no change then I will not be watching another series or even the rest of this one – ITS A FARCE

  • http://strictly betsy hay

JIMI AND FLAVIA “YOU WUZ ROBBED” It must be a fix.(Signed) Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells

  • Pamela

I love Jimi, he was fab in ‘The Guru’ and was obviously having a lot of fun and improving.

I’m annoyed at Anton for not making Anne do some dancing, as she did in the early weeks when Paul Daniels was the bottom dancer. Whilst I disagree with her politics, it was good to see someone who was older and plumper show that you don’t have to have a model-like figure to dance.

But I don’t think the answer is to reinstate the dance off. The judges get their say when they mark, and in previous series they have repeatedly saved dancers week after week that the public were clearly fed up with, allowing popular, just as good dancers to leave.

Instead, I think they need to look at what happens when there is a tie in the judges leader board. Those below the tie 5,5,5 should have got 2 & 1, not 4&3 as this wrongly inflates their scores.

I’m not saying that Anne would have gone out. Assuming Jimi came bottom of the viewers vote and Anne got just high enough to stay out of the bottom two (7), they would have had a draw in score and Anne would have stayed because viewer vote takes precedence – but other dancers between Jimi and Anne (according to the order of the judges vote) probably would have left. (Can’t say which one though).

What this all tells us though, is of the three top dancers, two of them are struggling for the viewers vote. (If their viewer votes had been higher, one of the dancers below Jimi would not have survived).

The reason Jimi was voted out, was a combination of being low (lowest?) in the public vote and the couples below him being so close in scores (30,29,29,29,28). Even if Ann had gone out, he would have had this problem the following week.

By the way, Ann is in no danger of winning the competition, even if she stays in. The votes of those who appreciate the dance steps will become concentrated on a smaller number of dancers, and those voting for Ann will get bored. There is no point trying to bully her out, it will only make the pro-Ann vote stronger.

Before you say anything, I have never voted for Ann, and I see the show as a mixture of entertainment and dance and learning skills. There have been many arguments as to why this isn’t just an entertainment show, but if it was just a dance show, there would be no celebrities, just talented amateurs or professionals and you’d have only proper dance show judges. Entertainment is important to strictly, else the viewing figures would be much reduced and it would not get the prime time slots that it does.

Many people obviously find Ann entertaining. They have as much right to their opinions and vote as the rest of us have to ours.

    • barbs

I agree on all points and I must say that Anton is infuraiting me. He is not even attempting to get her to learn the teps of each dance, he thinks throwing her around and doing the stupid tricks they have been doing is good enough – SOUR GRAPES ON HIS PART a) for getting her in the first place and b) for never winning – I used to like him but not anymore, he alone should know all thehard work and effort that goes into getting these celebs to dance – can he say in all honesty that is what he and the hippo are doing.
IF IT CONTINUES I WILL NEVER WATCH THE PROGRAMME AGAIN AS IT IS BECOMING A SHAM.

BBC GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND STOP THIS STUPIDITY. YOU HAD A WINNING SHOW THERE AND HAVE NOW MANAGED TO RUIN IT.

  • derk

This programme is now a farce. It is no longer a dance competition.I was disgusted that Jimi was voted off while Ann was absolutely terrible and stayed in.
It is obvious that it is now an entertainment show and not a competition. I therefore will be voting for Ann from now to join in on the lunacy of the event. No on second thoughts I will not be wasting my time watching this BBC stupidity any more and will watch something on another channel

  • Valerie

As a devoted follower of Strictly (every series)you (BBC) have to do something (and do it quickly) so that the programme doesn’t lose all its credibilty(and all its viewers). As things stand now we will see Ann in the final (reiminiscient of series 1!) and people like Jimmy voted off when they could/should have been there. Without an immediate change (to the judging/results compilation/dance off) this competition will no longer be a dance competition but a farce!

  • Dorothy Gray

They should not have stopped the dance off. However Ann is in because the public like her very much and VOTE to keep her in. It has not ever been clarified if this is a dance show or an entertainment show and this is where the fault lies. Have one or the other. I think this point should be emphasised again as Len did a few weeks ago and said entertainment wise he was delighted with Ann. Good on you Ann stick on in there, Anton is also to be praised for his efforts. Very entertaining. Think of all the money being raised for charity with folks voting Ann in. I think she is wonderful. A few of the dancers left in are not that great. A lot of the celebs are a right pain at times. They are getting what they want out the show which is publicity and to be in the public eye.

  • martin

Strictly shambles. Strictly ridiculous. Strictly pathetic. Anne W has to go. Like many others i will not watch this show again until it is about dance. if i wanted to watch a clown the circus would be appropriate.

  • Liz

What a shame. Always enjoyed Strictly however what was once a really enjoyable show is being ruined by change in format and ridicuous voting. So sorry for Jimi and Flavia and agree that dance off should be bought back. Also, results show doesn’t work without Bruce and can’t stand silly Claudia. Whoever is in charge of these changes should be sacked before it’s too late!

  • Camilla

It’s beyond a joke when someone as good as Jimi gets voted off and Ann Widdicombe is still there flumping around. It’s ridiculous.

  • Brian & Joann Moore

Having just arrived back in Australia after a month in the UK we had to see who got voted off. Unbelievable that the MP Ann is still there. We had a similar situation in Australia and the person did the right thing and quit the show so that those who had an ounce or more of talent could compete fairly.
Other comments re the format of the show are correct, there is no credibility whilst the current situation continues!!

does anyone know HOW the viewers voted. I can only see that for Jimi to go out, there must have been some strange voting. It appears that Anne is the viewers favourite

  • Jilly

Have always watched the show. Not anymore. Jimi and Flavia should never have been voted off, perhaps the bbc cannot count!

  • Tricia

Originally there wasn’t a dance off on the first few shows of SCD but I think the BBC started to do it because Dancing on Ice began doing it. I didn’t like the dance off when it came to SCD but now with the ridiculous outcomes from the viewers we do need the dance off back. I agree with someone else’s comment – the public should be able to vote for the couple they DON’T WANT. Every year I want to vote for more than one just so the worst dancers won’t get through!! BBC please give Anton a proper potential dance partner in future – he is such a GENT!!

  • Geoffers

Folks should have seen this coming right from the start. It’s a public vote, not a dance experts’ vote, so if you don’t want the comedy act to win then don’t put a comedy act there in the first place.

As for changing the rules now just because the results aren’t going the way you wanted… sheer childish sour grapes; remind me never to play any board games with any of you.

      Here, here!

  • http://yahoo steadyk

i agree with every one on here. But the dance off would not make any difference.she has to be in the bottem two. and she never has been (yet)

  • connie

I watch SCD to see dancing not an overweight sack being pulled around the dance floor!! She may be entertainment to some(funny sense of humour)but we are losing good dancers while she remains!! I am sure she is a lovely woman but that’s not what I watch the show for!!

  • BART1966

Don’t blame the show..the contestants or the judges…the people have voted…so that tells you all you ned to know. It’s onlt a tv programme. They are all putting on a show…that’s all.

  • Helen Boland

What a shame about Jimi !!!!! Knew him when he first started out on his acting career years ago when he lived in Wales and he was a barman in our pub just outside Cardiff for a while whilst in drama school,He was a lovely lad then and so nice to see he got so far . Will miss him on the show!!!

  • Doris Louyet

This was no longer about dancing!!! What a bad joke, leaving people who cannot dance at all, but have enough supporters, in the ‘game’.
I was a big fan of ‘Strictly come dancing’ (watching from Belgium), but after last Sunday I don’t enjoy the idea of watching any more, knowing that everyone can get out or stay in, just at random!

  • Roberta Santa-Cruz

Absolute travesty Jimi & Flavia being knocked out. He’s got such energy & a wonderful personality and together they made a wonderful couple & they’re dancing was good too, not like some, one in particular, who really should be appearing in a pantomime instead of a dancing competition. It was funny in the first couple of weeks, but after Sunday is no longer a joke & could lose the programme viewers instead of gaining them. They should definitely bring back the ‘dance-off’ & then Jimi & Flavia would still be in the competition. Found it very upsetting & made me really angry.

Why are such people a John S and Ann W on the show in the first place when it is obvious overweight people do not have the agility, suppleness or stamina to execute such dances as the jive, salsa, cha cha cha etc. Also why oh why is a vacuous airhead with limited vocabulary a judge on the show. I don’t need to name her, you must all know who I mean. Bring back Arlene or someone like Karen Hardy who are professional dancers and have something intelligent to say. They also have personality.

    • Sue

I agree about the voting, bring back the Dance off and lets have Karen Hardy as a judge. I am not a fan of Ann W but I do think some of the comments made about her are very rude, especially by Craig. The more rude he is the more the public will vote for her, he is his own worst enemy. Having read some of the comments I think people need to remember that it is THE PUBLIC!!!!cha that vote and not the BBC.

    • Becky

I don’t believe your comment that Alesha is a “vacuous airhead with limited vocabulary”. I think that a former champion of Strictly is a good enough qualification to be a judge, especially as she’s participated in the dances concerned herself. She knows and understands how much work and effort goes in to doing them right! What knowledge have you regarding dancing??

  • Mary

I don’t think it’s a case that overweight people cannot dance (I go to a dance class and there are plenty of “beanpoles” who cannot master even the simple steps). However, I do agree that the judging panel should be a bit more balanced with perhaps another ex-professional dancer.

  • rodders

have the audience been brought in from x factor, do they have to cheer when someone hits a high note or a lift, applause at the end please, cut out this american tripe.

  • Sandra

I enjoy Strictly very much and hate to miss it. Beautiful costumes and wonderful dancing. Why isn’t it repeated during the week for those viewers who miss the live show? Please do this. The professionals do a great job of teaching and get brilliant performances out of the contestants. Jimi & Flavia definitely shouldn’t have gone of couse – very sad – everyone knows it should obviously have been Ann. Maybe viewers weren’t keen on Flavia wearing trousers rather than a glamourous dress? I know this is an entertainment show but it is a dancing competition and the good dancers should stay.

A couple of things I think should change. Definitely bring back the dance off. Also the judges should all hold up their scores at the same time not one by one so they can’t be influenced by one another. On Sunday we should be told what the couples score in total after the judges vote is combined with the viewers.

Look forward to watching this week.

  • Alie

I was crying with Jimi It is not fair he has to leave he was an enjoy to watch, always smiling and doing the best he could. I did not like the comments of Craig either. It is really shocking to see Jimi go.

  • http://strictlycomedancing.tv Nick

Ann Widdecombe = fat foolish fake, frustrating frump, feckless foment farcical feeble felon, fractious flagrant flounder, farewell flabby frump !! – forever.

  • Sue B

I completely agree with everyone who says that Strictly is a DANCE competition not a freak show at a circus. Ann W is far too big for her boots (literally) in her assumption every week that she will be safe – the pity is that the public are foolish enough to keep her in it. From being an avid viewer from week 1, series 1, for the last 5 weeks I have only kept up to date on-line just so that I know when I can start watching it again when SHE’S gone! I am angry and upset that I no longer feel able to enjoy my favourite show of the autumn/winter. Can anyone suggest a way to vote HER out – I for one don’t begrudge voting for ALL the others each week – the money goes to a good cause after all – but if no-one else does the same then it’s a no-win situation. The only alternative is 2 series – a Strictly Come Dancing series and a Strictly Nothing Like Dancing More Like Beached Whales series.

the most ridiculous event you could witness everybody likes a laugh but not when it becomes a sad an old unattractive in any way dragon who can get more votes for not dancing than she could in politics is beyond belief, this is a very sad reflection on the intelligence of our general population. a laugh is a laugh but not to those who have tried so hard to become better against an unbelievable travesty of a woman. it gives a wrong impression to young people that even if you try hard you can not win
