Strictly started week 2 with a bang and all 14 couples danced a foxtrot or a salsa.
Having been to watch Strictly last week I was a bit put out that I was watching it from my lounge instead of the glamorous studio but hey ho I’ll get over it.
I hope everyone who went this Saturday had a fantastic time…
Generally speaking the standard was high and so were expectations for a certain person’s salsa – Ann of course; which ended with Anton picking her up and flinging her about. I think Ann could be good in the ballroom and if Anton stopped joking about then maybe people would stop thinking of her as a joke on the show!
The highlight of my night was Pamela and James; not least because of an incredibly funny moment where she almost fell over coming out of a floor spin – classic. That woman can move! So excited to see all her dances – she seems to be so effortless and so expressive.
In contrast I was disappointed with a few dances which left me feeling a bit cold; poor Peter Shilton doesn’t seem to be blessed with natural rhythm nor did Gavin or Goldie turn me on this week.
Gavin needs to stop worrying about looking silly and just dance! The salsa wasn’t one of his best but I think he’ll be cracking in the ballroom.
Now Jimi Mistry seems to think he’s fantastic but I think his dancing needs to catch up with his ego – there’s a lot of facial expressions and gesticulating going on…calm it down Jimi and you’ll be fab.
Crazy outfits and props are making their way into the routines – Scott and Natalie being a prime example. For a second I thought they were going to start dancing around pitchforks. I don’t mean to be grumpy but although I enjoyed their salsa I wasn’t raving about it like the judges were.
Pasty Kensit – lovely Pasty came out fighting with a sultry salsa – I almost missed it because I was picking myself up off the floor after seeing Robin in a black mesh vest in the VT…
Now the foxtrots were of a sexy variety weren’t they? Lots of sexual chemistry going on on that dance floor this year – especially with Kara and Artem. Kara delivered a great foxtrot and I can’t wait to see more of her.
Matt Baker delivered again this week – he’s very bendy and pointy isn’t he? Tone it down Matt you’re starting to look like stretch armstrong!
Paul Daniels got through his foxtrot with the help if lovely Ola and Felicity and Vincent delivered a better performance than last week’s cha cha but still need to up their game.
Last but not least is my Nanny’s favourite Brendan and homesick Michelle -I’m afraid she’s going to burst into tears or hit one of the judges! As the judges said she needs to keep her shoulders down and strengthen her core but I think she will get much much better in weeks to come.
All in all a Fab. U. Lous night!
