Following her disastrous performance on Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday there were more than a few of us who were left wondering what was wrong with Nancy Dell’Olio? Aside from the fact that Anton had gone for the comedy routine and the fact that he seems incapable of taking any dance seriously- it was a mish-mash of a salsa.
Judge Bruno commented, in his usual candid manner, that it looked like she had “inhaled two gallons of Veuve Clicquot.”
Nancy is known for liking champagne so she took this comment to heart and was overheard talking to a friend about taking legal action against Bruno!
Nancy had apparently injured her leg which was added to the shambles of a dance.
One friend said: ‘She was having trouble walking and her leg was in real pain – but she thought the show must go on, so took to the floor.
‘To then have Bruno accuse her of being drunk, she found very upsetting. She has considered legal action – but everyone’s been calming her down.’
It was believed last night that the American-Italian had been persuaded against suing.
A BBC spokesman said: ‘The judges always look to give constructive criticism to all of our dancers and this is often delivered with humour, given that Strictly is an entertainment show. Bruno’s comments were tongue in cheek and not meant to cause offence.’
