OMG. Oh. Em. Gee. We waited. We watched. We judged. There were some good ones, some great ones, and some that I watched through my fingers (Lulu).
Mention of the night has to go to the one and only Russell Grant for best use of a sea-shell. Fabulous! He rocked that cha cha and although he has been viewed as the Ann Widdecombe the difference is that he can actually dance. Rock on Russell.
And calm.
So show one is over and what did we all think?
Holly and Artem were up first and there was a lot to live up to. Holly didn’t disappoint with a sexy cha cha cha. She seemed nervous but her technique shone through. Excited at what’s to come.
Next up were Dan and Katya dancing a waltz. Dan had some good moments but was criticised for his lack of musicality and funny expression.
Oh dear Lulu and Brendan. Whilst Brendan looked hot in purple it couldn’t detract from the outrageously poor dancing and shimmying from Lulu. Oh dear. Craig described it as a “Dance disarrrster”. Right on Mr R H.
Boxer and big lad Audley Harrison and Natalie Lowe were next with a waltz. He has a lot of heart and hopefully his moves will catch up.
“Bad Boy” Robbie Savage and the gorgeous Ola Chops then were up dancing a cha cha cha. Hmmmm. I’m divided here as he didn’t seem to do a lot of dancing but I still really enjoyed the performance. He certainly looked gorgeous but just need a few more moves.
The sweet Anita and Robin were next dancing a waltz. She was very graceful and I think she could be a real contender. Good lines and armography (get me) but her core was a bit sloppy.
And of course last but by no means least were Russell and Flavia. Fan-tas-tic! For me the dance of the night – no wonder they were the finale! Russell emerged from a giant sea-shell and shimmied his way across the floor to “Venus”. He has great rhythm and musicality and I can’t wait to see him next week.
