With just seven couples left in the competition we haven’t seen many of the stand-out dances we usually see at this stage. Until last night! I was so happy to see Chelsee and Pasha’s amazing Argentine Tango and Harry and Aliona’s incredible Quickstep!
I really thought Chelsee was undermarked however and I’m not sure what the judges were looking at! How did Anita get 7, 8, 7, 8? It looked like she was being thrown around the floor and it wasn’t really dancing! No-one can deny she’s got a great smile and acts really well through the dances but it’s time to go Anita. Good on Brendan for stepping in #rentapro.
Holly and Artem danced a Foxtrot next and there was some comments on music choice and whether it was appropriate. OK she was better than all the other weeks in terms of showing us a bit of personality but something ain’t right. The British public aren’t connecting with her and I don’t think she’ll last much longer in the show.
Alex and James danced a Charleston next; I thought she looked great and she acted really well throughout the dance. Craig said she’d taken a step back this week and I have to agree. James didn’t look to happy with the comments.
Now then Robbie and Ola dancing a Samba. I agree with Len “It was a shamba! You got possessed and it turned into Match Of The Day.” TOO MUCH FAFFING! Why can’t they just dance and show off their skills as opposed to messing about and stripping into football shorts. I do think Robbie can dance and if they could just do a normal routine it would be great.
My fave Chelsee and Pash we up next. YES!!! Totally amazing! This girl can really dance. Brilliant Argentine Tango; passion, sharp flicks and amazing lifts. Undermarked; they should have got 10s. What are the judges looking at? Chelsee to WIN!
Jason “face” Donovan and Kristina were up next with a Charleston; he can finally put his crazy facial expressions to good use. I thought he danced this really well but I don’t think it deserves four 9s. He did act really well throughout.
Last to dance were Harry and Aliona with an amazing Quickstep. This really is what I’ve been looking for ALL SERIES. Amazing movement arond the floor, great frame and character. Totally deserved three 10s!
Harry and Aliona had to make a quick change to get ready for the Swing-a-thon where all 7 couples danced at the same time and got voted off by the judges until the winner remained. The couples were then given points accordingly.
I really enjoyed the Swing-a-thon and I thought it really showed up the good and the bad. I was surprised to see Alex and James come third; more proof, if needed, that she has the BBC advantage.
First out: Robbie and Ola scoring 1 point.
Second out: Anita and Brendan scoring 2 points.
Third out: Holly and Artem scoring 3 points.
Fourth out: Jason and Kristina scoring 4 points.
Fifth out: Alex and James scoring 5 points.
Sixth out: Runner-up: Chelsee and Pasha scoring 6 points.
WINNER: Harry and Aliona scoring 7 points.
