Breaking news: Alesha Dixon has left Strictly Come Dancing, it has been reported and the Strictly fans are going wild!

The BBC has confirmed that judge Alesha will no longer be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing,“We wish her all the best. She has done three very successful series with us and we look forward to announcing our new lineup in due course.” a spokesperson said.

Poor Alesha never had a chance after replacing the beloved Arlene Phillips amidst the BBC ageism row in 2009.

The news has put Strictly fans into overdrive as to who will replace her! Karen Hardy gets my vote; take my poll to have your say on who should be the new Strictly judge.

    it has to be a pro, Karen would be amazing cause she knows what she’s talking about on choreography corner on it takes two, Alesha wasnt any good cause she doesnt know about dancing

    Thank you thank you thank you, Alesha for a belated Christmas present. I love SCD and so look forward to no longer having to endure you for a further season.  Now some advice if I may: Go and give it you all and you’ll quickly gain comments like ‘your the most improved person’, ‘your the one to watch’, ‘just let yourself go’ and other such rubbish which I am sure you’ll be familiar with already….

    Wonder if ITV can afford all those pens ???

    I like you are happy to hear that Alesha has gone on to pastures new and eagerly await the BBC’s decision on who will replace her. However, I do find your comments completely over the top and slightly offensive. You make it sound like she had no talent whatsoever, in any field, whose opinions were to be derided on all matters. Although she was a great contestant, she did not have sufficient knowledge of dancing to be a judge on a dancing competition. Karen Hardy, in my view, would be an excellent choice, or the BBC could try begging Arlene to come back. All this does not mean that Alesha could not make a successful switch to another, broader based talent show. She has, after all, carved a career for herself in the world of entertainment and must know something about singing and performing. I enjoyed watching her when she took part in the show dancing with Matthew Cutler and I wish her the best of luck in her new venture.

    Agree wholeheartedly I think good riddance and would be over the moon if Karen Hardy were to replace her.

    I use it when i’ve missed the show on a saturday night and i wanna check the pics and videos out! if im bored i just keep checking things out like tweet feeds and other peoples comments which i can respond to. x

    I think that the BBC has done the best thing that they have done in a loooooooong time.  Without her  scores we might get someone who can do the job right

    Please ask Arlene back. She had interesting KNOWLEDGe as does C.Revl-H; but if there is a real need for youth then ask Zoe. She was immensely better for Strictly Two than Claudia. Immensely!   She would be a better panel member than Miss Dixon. She has verve and personality and also success on the show as a performer.

    Yes to Miss Hardy; yes to Arlene back. That would be good. How about Zoe? What an improvement on Claudia. She would be a great improvement on Tess too!! Not as “gauche”, more humorous, more intelligent and a better “performance” person.

    I believe that judges should be experienced in the thing they are going to Judge ,my vote goes to Karen as she IS a ballroom dancer ,i like Alecia but she is not a trained ballroom dancer to extent of others ,Karen  is and will be straight to the point and will give constructive remarks Alecia was taught and not experienced .

    I agree, Karen must be the new Judge, she  is a dancer and a wonderful choreographer as well as being a very attractive girl – no-one else will do!
