Quarter final dances in Strictly Come Dancing movie week

The Strictly Come Dancing quarter final is just a few days away so let’s check out the dances for this Saturday.

My faves Pamela and James are dancing the Viennese Waltz – lovely. I really want to see them in a slow dance and I think this could be beautiful. Apparently they are recreating the potters wheel scene from Ghost! Everyone vote for them!

Down on his luck Gavin and Katya are dancing a “Superman themed” Foxtrot this week. Katya thinks it’s his last week but Gavin thinks the public will put him through.

Matt and Aliona are dancing a Jive this week. Can he make up for a dodgy American Smooth last week?

Important dates for your Strictly diary! The semi-finals and the final!

Thanks to the BBC twitter team I can now annouce those all important dates for the Strictly Come Dancing semi-final and the grand final!

Semi-Final: Friday 10th December and Saturday 11th December, with the results on Sunday 12th December!

GRAND FINAL: Saturday 18th December – results on same night!

Woo hoo – get them in your diary and tell everyone not to bother you on these dates!

Ann is fourth favourite to win apparently

Ann Widdecombe and Anton du Beke are apparently fourth favourite to win this years Strictly Come Dancing.

“Sources” have apparently revealed that Ann & Anton are coming in the “top three” in the voting every week!

Ann is 7/1 fourth favourite to win Strictly with partner Anton Du Beke and has asked fans to ensure she has a place in the final so she can recreate the memorable routine where she danced on wires.

Ann said: “I’d love to be in the final because then I will get the chance to fly again.”

Seven down, seven to go! Who is your winner at this stage?

With Christmas and the Strictly Come Dancing final approaching at a hefty speed what do we think at this halfway point?

I don’t know about you but Strictly Come Dancing begins the countdown to Christmas for me and the final makes me think of sitting with my family, roaring fire, chily outside with a nice glass (bottle?) of wine.

Lovely.

Yes we can argue about Ann and Anton, about lifts, scores and the fact the the BBC still try to pass off the “Sunday” results show as “live”…but instead let’s think of how we look forward to Strictly every Saturday night. How we go into work on Monday or call our friends and family and have a good gossip about who went, who should of gone and who was rubbish!

Ah I must have my rose tinted spectacles on. Oh yes, I’ve taken them off now.

So, seven couples left in – will Ann Widdecombe make it to the final? Possibly.

For me it’s between Scott & Natalie, Kara & Artem and Matt & Aliona and possibly my favourites Pamela & James might make it through.

If I had to guess right now I would say Kara and Artem will win.

What’s your prediction?

Results: Week 8 – Michelle and Brendan voted out of Strictly Come Dancing

Michelle Williams and Brendan Cole have been voted out of Strictly Come Dancing in week 8 of the competition.

Some may say it’s about time. Others may say it should have been Ann.

Indeed Ann Widdecombe wasn’t even in the bottom two so someone is voting for her!

Felicity and Vincent found themselves in the bottom two for the second time but were saved again.

Did the right person go?

Should the dance off be brought back?

Following Jimi and Flavia’s early departure there has been a lot of heated debate about whether the dance-off should be brought back to Strictly.

To be fair to the BBC I remember the initial backlash when they first intriduced the dance-off so it seems a case of damned if you do damned if you don’t!

However, it does seem wrong that both Tina and Jimi were voted off before the likes of Ann, Michelle and Felicity.

So who is in the right?

The problem is you can’t blame the public for voting for their favourite and that often means personality over dancing skills – but this is a dance competition.

What are your thoughts?

Results: Jimi & Flavia voted out of Strictly Come Dancing week 6!

Jimi Mistry and Flavia Cacace have been voted out on Strictly Come Dancing in week 6 of the competition!

After a great night last night dancing a quickstep Jimi was certainly not the favourite to get the boot but he was in the bottom two along with Michelle and Brendan and received the lowest score overall.

Hmm not sure if he was the right person to go – should Ann and Anton have gone, or perhaps Michelle and Brendan who find themselves in the bottom two for the third time?

If the dance off still existed would they have been saved?

He was so sad then he actually cried!

Tina O’Brien & Jared Murillo voted out of Strictly Come Dancing

Tina O’Brien and Jared Murillo have been voted out of Strictly Come Dancing.

They danced the Argentine Tango last night but it seems not even a sexy catsuit could save Tina. I’m so disappointed she has been voted off at this early stage.

Felicity and Vincent were also in the bottom two.

Did the right couple go? No!
