Week 11: What the judges said…

Rachel and Vincent were the first to dance, performing a Waltz to Angel by Sarah McLachlan. But after receiving a full house of 10s last week, Rachel was feeling the pressure of setting the standard.
Len said that watching their performance he “felt like the cat who got the cream, and you looked like the mice that got the cheese. Lovely.”
Bruno thought Rachel “looked like an angel, danced like an angel. You’re a natural, glowing.”
Despite thinking that Vincent’s choreography was a bit stop-starty, Craig said Rachel made “beautiful shapes. Brilliant.”
While Arlene said: “That was one of the most soul-tingling waltz we have seen on Strictly.”

Score: Craig 9, Arlene 10, Len 10, Bruno 10. Total 39.

Up next were Lisa and Brendan with a Foxtrot to Walking My Baby Back Home by Nat King Cole. But still reeling from finding herself in two dance-offs in a row Lisa was feeling seriously unloved.
Bruno thought Lisa had “improved beyond recognition. Such style and elegance.”
Craig was worried that Lisa’s feet hadn’t come together quite how they should have during the dance, but nether-the-less felt it was “amazing. Totally gorgeous.”
Arlene said: “You have gone from a non-dancer to a beautiful dancer. You looked like Cinderella out there, and tonight you went to the ball.”
Len thought it was “a buffet of gorgeous dancing. Your best yet.”

Score: Craig 9, Arlene 10, Len 10, Bruno 10. Total 39.

Week 11 Round up

It was double the fun tonight as the remaining Strictly contestants took to the dancefloor twice, dancing one ballroom and one Latin dance.

Lisa Snowdon 76

Austin Healey 74

Rachel Stevens 71

Tom Healey 70

Christine Bleakley 58

And with four places in the semi-final up for grabs the competition was harder than ever.

Cha cha cha-ing her way to the top of the leader’s board was Lisa Snowdon. But after finding herself in the dance off for the last two weeks the radio presenter said she feared she might still be in for the chop.

Strictly Come Dancing Week 11 Preview

After netting four 10s last weekend, Rachel is hoping for another perfect week with a beautiful Waltz and feisty Paso Doble. Dance-off queen Lisa had been suffering with low confidence at the beginning of the week, but she’s determined to go out this Saturday and have fun!

Rachel & Vincent – Waltz and Paso
Lisa & Brendan – Foxtrot and Cha Cha
Christine & Matthew – Tango and Salsa
Austin & Erin – Foxtrot and Paso
Tom & Camilla – Waltz and Samba

Christine has found her perfect dance in the Samba, but she’s been struggling to get into character for the Tango. Despite suffering with fatigue, Austin has embraced the passion and intensity of his Paso Doble routine and has worked hard on perfecting his Foxtrot. Tom’s been having great fun in training this week, and is hoping to impress the judges with his two routines… and possibly see one of those double-digit paddles go up on double dance week!
