Kelly Brook was last night at the centre of a “fix” row which has rocked Strictly Come Dancing.

Jealous rivals have dubbed the BBC1 hit “The Kelly Show” because they are convinced it has been rigged in her favour.

And the ill-feeling over “Special K” is threatening to plunge the show into crisis – a week before it returns to BBC1.

Rivals are fuming that she has been paired with housewives’ favourite Brendan Cole, 31, a previous champ.
And they claim Kelly, 27, is also getting huge publicity and will benefit most from a major rule change.

Bookies have already firmly installed the ex-Big Breakfast babe as hot favourite to win the celebrity dance contest.

Tonight a documentary is being screened (BBC1, 6pm) and is billed as “all the backstage gossip” of the show.

But it will not show all the bitching and ill-feeling that is going on behind the scenes of the programme. EastEnders star Matt Di Angelo, 20, is the only contestant who has gone public with his feelings.

He raged: “Every time I open a paper she’s pictured in a skimpy outfit and there’s just a few lines about everyone else. Judging by the coverage she is getting, Kelly is going to win. Everything is always about her.”

A show insider added: “There’s a strong feeling that Strictly is being turned into The Kelly Show.

“People are already calling her ‘Special K’ behind her back. It’s nothing personal because she’s a lovely girl but some
people’s egos are getting severely bruised.”

Earlier this week BBC chiefs announced the results show would be moved to Sundays and the judges would now make the final decision on who leaves.

The bottom two couples from the public vote will face a dance-off leaving the judges to decide who should stay and who should go. If the judges’ vote is split 50/50 then head judge Len Goodman, 65, will have the deciding vote.

The insider said: “There’s been a growing feeling of unease about how the show is shaping up. At the heart of it is the feeling the programme will be rigged to make sure Kelly won’t be voted off too soon.”

Last night BBC bosses were adamant the show was not weighted in favour of any of the contestants.

A spokesman said: “The show is not being fixed in Kelly’s favour.

“It is totally fair. Everyone is being treated the same. Kelly’s picture has been used by lots of media outlets because she is very photogenic but that is not our decision.

“We’ve decided to make the change (to the show) after getting a lot of feedback from viewers who felt the results show went out too late. It also makes a lot of sense to go out earlier on a Sunday evening – it gives all the family the chance to see who gets voted off.

“We believe having the judges making the final decision is a formula that has worked well in other shows and will add to the drama.”

If the judges cannot take the criticism regarding John Sargent . Please DO NOT TURN UP ON SATURDAY NIGHT, and you can put your salary into children in need or a charity that will benefit and leave the public to the voting because we are there to be entertained.
