Despite being only 40, Letitia says she’s finding it a challenge being the oldest person left in the competition.
‘My energy levels aren’t the same, but I’m getting fitter,’ she says. ‘I’m the fittest I’ve ever been.’
‘When I first started, I felt like a poor relation to Alesha and Kelly, but we’ve all got our place in the competition. I’ve never been one to go clubbing, and hip action doesn’t come naturally to me.’
However, the former EastEnder says the main advantage of being older is that it encourages the audience to give dancing a go. ‘It makes it more accessible for the older people,’ she says. ‘Any age can do it.’
Letitia has also revealed her determination to master the Latin. ‘I do feel more comfortable with the Ballroom,’ she says. ‘I think there’s something graceful about Ballroom. Alesha makes it look contemporary though. I enjoy it more, but I do like the others. I don’t want to leave the competition having failed at Latin.’
We’re sure Letitia will nail both dances this week, particularly as she seems to be getting more confident by the day. ‘What I’ve realised is dancing is the best way of keeping fit. It’s such fun and I’m learning a skill,’ she says. ‘I’ve taken to exercise. I’ve been running and boxing.’ Let’s hope she knocks us out this week.
