Heather Small has refused to wear skimpy outfits on the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The singer told producers that she does not want to follow in the footsteps of professional dancer Ola Jordan, who donned a revealing catsuit in the first live show last weekend.
“Ola really worked that catsuit. You wondered, ‘Who’s she dancing with again?’. I am not mad keen on revealing a lot so I am going to try to make sure I am elegant,” Heather explained.
“When you dance and are being judged, the judges need to be able to see your body. But it’s not all about being as sexy as you can. For me, it’s about showing myself in the best light, body-wise and dancing-wise. I don’t do short.”
Small, who is partnered with Brian Fortuna, will compete against her fellow female contestants for the first time in tonight’s episode, which airs on BBC One at 6.45pm.
