STRICTLY Come Dancing star Brendan Cole cannot bend his left knee after smashing it on an escalator.
And the Kiwi mover is in such agony that he is dreading having to do the paso doble on Saturday’s show as he will have to drop heavily to his knees.
Smooth-talking Brendan, who partners pin-up Lisa Snowdon, tripped on a London Underground escalator, sending his joint crashing into the edge of a metal step.
With his jeans soaked in blood, he managed to make it to former dance partner Kelly Brook’s West End play Fat Pig.
But because he was late he was forced to sit in the audience with his left leg sticking out stiffly and his knee throbbing in pain.
Brendan, 32, told TV Biz: “I fell up the escalator and ripped the c*** out of my knee. I can’t bend my leg properly and my jeans are covered in blood. It’s not good.”
The pro, who shunned medical help, said doing the paso doble would be “interesting” given his injury. And he admitted he was worried producers might make him “look like a d***” with some cheeky editing.
Brendan, who hobbled to Fat Pig’s after-show party with model girlfriend Zoe Hobbs, 26, also denied making Lisa cry on Strictly.
He blamed backroom staff for making it look like he had, adding: “Lisa just gets down sometimes as she works long hours.”
