IT was war on BBC Breakfast today when Strictly dancer Karen Hardy blasted Chris Parker for sticking up for John Sergeant.

Ex-EastEnders star Chris, who made it through to the finals of the first series with partner Hanna Karttunen, said he felt the judges had been too harsh on John who was called a ‘dancing pig in Cuban heels’ by Arlene Phillips.

25-year-old Chris, who played Spencer Moon in the BBC One soap, also argued that the judges were too public in their dismissal of the political journalist and should have kept their opinions to themselves.

Chris said: “Arlene and the judges should be ashamed of themselves for going out there and taking such a strong line.”

But when Karen, who danced with TV chef Gary Rhodes in this series, said he was talking rubbish Chris replied that she had to answer that as she has a vested interest in the programme.

Later, judge Arlene Phillips was seen running down the road to avoid awaiting photographers’ questions.

Do YOU think John should have left Strictly?
