Fat Sam’s Grand Slam…Speak Easy. Ooops sory I thought I was in Bugsy Malone for a minute there.
Week 11 saw all five couples get into the charleston or rock ‘n’ roll move with some great results. Not sure why BBC decided to shake the show up and have two completely new dances, but hey, it was good to see something different and to have the competition-style viennese waltz which I really enjoyed.
First out were Chris and his “Ola Chops” dancing the charleston. As you know Chris isn’t my favourite even though everyone and his dog seem to love them. However he danced the charleston really well, Craig said “Very crowd-pleasing darling, theatrical, punchy, I loved it. ” He scored 34.
Up next were Ricky and Natlie with a rock ‘n’ roll and they did not impress me or the judges “The timing was appalling early on. You need to get more height on the lifts. It was OK, just lacked a bit of pow” said Craig. It looked to me like he was just moving from section to section with big gaps inbetween where he just stopped dancing. Not Good Enough! He scored a low 31..well it’s low for him!
Flirty pair Ali and Brian were up next; could Ali perform with only a few hours of training under her belt? The answer is yes! She got a a 10 from Alesha an scored high praise from the judges “I’ve seen a new side to you. You’ve shaken it all around, cocked your leg up. I thought it was great” said Len. I loved how kooky this dance was and I really think Ali can win the competition. They scored an impressive 37.
Crowd pleasers Natalie and Vincent were up dancing a rock ‘n’ roll and oh dear they are in touble. I love them but I think they could go based on that dance. Alesha said “You should be able to sell the dance on your personality but it did become a tad clumsy.” They scored just 26 points with a 5 from Craig!
Last to dance were Laila and Anton with a charleston. Hmmm I just don’t know about these two. Yes the dance was good and Laila delivered the character but her moves just seem a little lazy to me. I agreed with Craig when he said “I thought it was very heavy, the kicks were very laboured. I did enjoy the storytelling.” The other judges thought it was fab and they scored 31 points.
Group Viennese Waltz
Love love love it! How exciting was this part of the show? They all did so well and I think Ali and Brian really stood out, they scored 10 out of 10. Natalie also did really well but only scored 7. I think they should bring this in as a regular thing next series. It was funny when they all nearly crashed into each other at the end!

Um you forgot the PHOTO of Chris and Ola but did put quite negative comments about them at the top, I don’t hink it is fair that you tell us whom you prefer as this is a website that everyone looks at and not all people like the same person.
