To the BBC,
Well done BBC for creating another storm about Strictly Come Dancing. Clap. Clap. Clap.
I understand that you want to change the format a bit; you’ve decided to have 14 dancers this year and have a “professional dance group, dedicated to performing routines on a scale never before seen on Strictly. The group will feature Strictly regulars and some new professional faces. The group routines promise to deliver show-stopping dance spectacles.”
What you don’t seem to realise is that you could make the show a lot more popular and entertaining by just getting big names to take part, that would have been a good first step.
Instead, you go in all guns blazing and axe some of Strictly’s favourite dancers. Lilia and Darren for god’s sake! And poor Ian and Matthew! Now you’ve gone and upset Brian Fortuna and he’s jumped ship. Well done again.
The three new boys look nice and shirtless and I’m sure they’ll be great, but do you think you’ve been a bit rash?
Also, you haven’t given Darren, Lilia, Ian or Matthew any good celebs in recent years. I’m starting to think you did that on purpose so you can fire them. Hmmmmm.
Yours,

holy moly!
what is the BBC think they are doing, changing the format for Stricly come dancing , all they had to do is to get some young celebs , not OAPs , we will be calling it ‘dancing with zimmerframes’. As for relegating the pro dancers to a group dance, what a waste. i think you will lose more veiwers because of what you have done, we all loved the pro dancers. KAREN.
Like any long runnning series the BBC are trying to keep it fresh. I like all the dancers who were dropped but they all knew that they are on year by year contracts, and that this was bound to happen. The show is going more towards the entertainment then the dancing how. I did not like either of the last two winners because neither to my eye was the best dancer, but that is the show. The BBC are just doing what the fans by their voting want them to do move it towards enterainment which is why Anton and is comedy Latin is sticking around.
