Phew what a night! I was tense all they way through that willing them all to do well.

First out was Austin and Erin, and hey did a great job on their jive. Gary and Karen was car-crash TV as they took to the floor to do their jive -it really was quite bad- I was cringing the whole way through. They scored just 18 points.

Mark and Hayley did a good-ish Tango, but Mark’s technique and lack of charisma were criticised.

Tom and Camilla delivered a fantastic jive and even though they scored one point less that Austin and Erin; it was my dance of the night as I thought they were the best.

John and Kristina danced a Tango, and the judges criticised it and said that John enjoyed himself too much (he was smiling a bit!) and that he needed to get into character.

Don and Lilia danced a magnificent Tango, Lilia’s’ choreography was praised by the judges- it was fab.

Lovely Andrew and Ola gave a valiant attempt but didn’t score well in points or praise- even though Andrew admitted to dancing naked in the bedroom!

Also, Bruno was very naughty tonight wasn’t he!!!

There was an added pressure for Kenny on Saturday night. This time last year Ola danced the same dance, the Tango, with her partner Spoony, scored only 25 points, and was knocked out of the competition.

Kenny and Ola’s performance also earned them 25 points, but luckily they did well enough to be voted through to next week.

‘I think I have improved,’ said Kenny, ‘but I feel like the judges just criticise rather than compliment, which isn’t very helpful.’

And he didn’t agree with all of the judges’ comments. ‘The reason for my ‘gorilla hands’ is because I’ve got big hands – I’m a rugby player!’

Kenny’s not looking forward to next week, but is still giving it his all.

‘I’m going to approach this week the same as every other week. Work hard, practice, and listen to the music. I’ll have it as my ring tone on my phone too.’

On Saturday night’s show, Penny Lancaster wept in the after-dance interview as she was asked questions by Tess Daly. Penny seemed absolutely distraught at her performance and the judges comments really upset her.

At least she got through and can put the jive behind her; I think both her and Ian are happy about that!

Well it’s goodbye to Willie Thorne and I can’t say I’m surprised or sad but he is very sweet! it would have been a travesty if John Barnes got voted out; and I don’t think that was ever going to happen.

I think Erin’s choice of music for the tango was completely wrong and didn’t help them at all!

Well wasn’t it a great show on Saturday night? Apart from the fact that after every dance I had to text my mum and sister a summary as they were on holiday!

I think Alesha really stood out…again! Also I really enjoyed Gabby and John’s dance and I was shocked to see him in the bottom two.

I didn’t think Kelly’s dance was as good as the judges made out, but that’s just my opinion! I thought Gethin looked like a robot and he needs to get some personality and I thought Kate improved this week.

Matt di Angelo blew me away this week and I was so tense when he forgot his moves, but he recovered well didn’t he?!

So this week my favourite is Matt!

This week the competition really steps up a gear as the boys and the girls dance together for the first time, hoping to make it through to dance again next week.

So how has their training been going this week?

After being in the bottom two last week, Letitia’s confidence has been her biggest hurdle. ‘Whenever I start to panic, Darren really helps me to forget my nerves,’ she explains. ‘I hope on Saturday I will have more self confidence and do a great performance.’

Kelly and Brendan have been rehearsing hard. Perhaps even too much? ‘I’ve already danced this like a million times,’ Kelly said yesterday. Brendan replied, ‘Well maybe we need a million and five.’

Craig’s comments about Penny not being light enough on her feet have really hit home. After a successful run-through, Ian commented, ‘Isn’t that light enough Craig?’ to which Penny replied, ‘Penny the elephant!’
